On Friday the 7th July the latest gathering of Commando Connect convened in the Officers Mess, RM Condor. Home of 45 Commando Royal Marines. An impromptu collection raised an unexpected donation of £50 towards the Scott Sutherland Project. The popular event is organised by Paul 'Baz' Barret who unveiled the fifth plaque in the Commando Memorial Heritage Trail at the Sutherland family home in Birkhill, Dundee. Tremendous progress all round with this joint project , what fantastic generous support, for phase 1 in recognising the contribution of this artist to the Commando family, and phase 2 the recreation of his missing work , typifying the ethos of the Commando's, completed by the plinth memorial and plaque, dedicated to those men who died and were injured during Commando training , Lest We Forget.
