ANOTHER MILESTONE - PLINTH STONE

We are now deep into Phase II of the project - the recreation of the 'Leaping Salmon'.

 Thanks to your generous support we have now raised  sufficient funds that the construction of the foundations and stone plinth at Achnacarry can be achieved.

Construction includes the digging out and reinforced concrete foundations, the cutting, dressing and shaping of the stones - in the style of the Commando Memorial. As much labour as possible will be undertaken by voluntary support, there is an obvious need for some skilled masonry!

Furthermore, at the recent unveiling of the seventh Commando Memorial Plaque at Dundee University , Perth Road, Dundee, the occasion provided a great opportunity for the members of the team to sign the contract with Alan Beattie-Heriott. The contract signifies the official commissioning of the Leaping Salmon statue.
